You will have to wait to hear from West Point. If they do not accept you then you cannot trade with someone else. You may have to go to the Naval Academy. There are, however, a very few who attend one service academy and then cross-commission into another service. That is risky as you would have to find another who wishes to cross-commission into the Navy before that can happen.

It might be possible if you received an LOA from the Naval Academy and were to trade with a West Point Appointee who had received an LOA for West Point. In any other circumstance it would not be possible because at this point in the Admissions process, Candidates receiving offers of appointment, with the exception of those receiving LOA’s, are charged off to their nominating MOC(nominating rep or senator) and each MOC can only have five Cadets/Mids at each of the four service academies that use nominations at any point in time. In any event, if you did receive an LOA from the Naval Academy and were not recruited to the Naval Academy for athletics or other academy goals, and if you are not the winner of an appointment in the competition within your nominating sources, you will likely have a whole candidate score that will place you at or near the top of waitlisted candidates at West Point and will be offered a declined offer of appointment.

No you can’t trade.However if you do eventually receive an appointment to West Point you can decline the Naval Academy and accept the appointment to West Point.A guy with whom I went to high school did just that.Another friend of mine went to the Naval Academy.You could do much worse in life than to go to Annapolis.Good luck either way.

You should be very proud. If you’ve been accepted at one I would think you could get the other.
In my opinion the Navy offers many more opportunities later in life. Congrats!

To get into West Point you need a recommendation from a governor.
